Sunny England!

Right you lot,a note to say that I'm off to sunny England for a few weeks and may not be able to blog.Hopefully will use Paula's laptop we will see.At last the sun has returned to Yambol and we are doing some serious sun bathing(well Paula is, we two are trying to get the veg plot de-weeded again)

Will report back on life in the old country keep looking in I will be back!!!!!

Paula's Week!

Blinking lousie weather!!!!!!!!Paula arrived on Monday and it rained ,rained ,rained.there has been some sun in between and its warm but rain is not what we wanted.Last night we went to Vicki and Slavi's for the evening which was nice.Today don't know cos, yes its raining again.

Stormy day.

Yesterday the weather was so heavy and close it was hard to do anything,but today we had one of our classic Bulgarian thunder storms,the thunder so loud that it shook the house.Winston our Bulgarian guard dog hide under the table.Jaz just sat it out thunder has never bothered him,Gypsy dog went for the chair and sat under it .We being Brit's sat under our new summer kitchen with the birds and watched the spectacle.When it rains,thunders, lightens,or sunshines here its always extreme, very unpredictable.

Sunday Black Sea.

Guess what......................we have lost another day thinking it was Saturday we thought we had a day to recover after the party before out trip to the black sea.Wrong it was Sunday so up we got with thick heads out with the dogs(Bulgarian for dog Kuchi, Russian, Sabarka)bet your impressed!!showered and away to the sea with Slava,Vicki and Sasha.the scenery on the way was spectacular,the day was hot and we were looking forward to the trip.Three Russians,Two Anglachanies,hardly any common language what fun!and it was.the day was spent swimming in the sea,after which we went for pizza and beer.Home at 7ish,absolutely whacked,sun burnt(forgot the sun lotion)but enjoyed every minute.Turkey next trip cos it is only 2 hours from here,should be interesting.

Eating with friends.

What an evening Saturday was,we set the kitchen table up out side filled it with food and drink and invited Slava,Vicki,Sasha,Lubo,Laina,Brian and Trish for an evening of entertainment.The weather was warm a so was the company.We played guitar and did our stuff,Slava,Sasha,Vicki and Laina all had a sing song,a proper karaoke session.Wonderful evening,never to forget!

The heat is on.

Yes its a sizzling 90 dec today in full sun,and yes I have got my sun screen on.We took a trip to Yambol this morning TORCHER! in the van but I wanted to pay the electric and water and do some shopping,hopefully we wont be going again for a while.On Sunday we are going to the coast with Vickie and Slavi I'm looking forward,we haven't seen the coast come to think of it we haven't been anywhere in the 3 years we have been here so it will be a real treat.

The pool

Look,yes its me playing in the pool first time this year,spent the day varnishing wood and it was wonderful climbing into a lukewarm pool fully clothed!!!!!!!!!!!Weird it was thundering and lightning over head an experience I would never have had if we hadn't come on our Bulgarian adventure.

Thats That!

At last we have finished the roof tiles,it hasn't taken long really and we had a few distractions on the way,glad its done though because the weather is getting hot and no way can you do any roofing in 30 deg's.The late summer has done the garden good everything has sprouted up,and it looks really pretty.Everyone is out in the veggie patches its all go,a bit strange when only a few months ago we were all alone in the street and now its bustling. 

No rain.

At last the rain seems to be at an end and the sun is high its 8am and a lovely morning.Last night we had dinner at the Russians Vicki and Slavi and grand daughter Sasha,also there were Lubo,Laina,their grandson Lucho and of course Vilou.It was a very pleasant evening.Today we are going to get the last of the roof tiles and get the shade area finished.Counting the days down to Paula's arrival!!!!!They say the temperature is to reach 40 deg over the next weeks hope its not quite that hot.

Black Friday.

Yesterday we went to miomar for the weekly practice,and were told by our newly found friends Mark and Vickie that they were returning to England for a while and the Yorkie Bar was being run by the landlord.We are very sorry,just a note to say that without going into detail there are some really nasty people here(none Bulgarian)and then there's Mark and Vickie really nice fun loving hard workers!!!!Its truly black Friday.so up the spout went the practice and down the hatch went the beer,we hope it wont be long before they return.

Back to it.

After the exciting arrival of our Russians and  Swedish neighbours its time to get on with the work,it has rained quite heavily for the past few days stopping progress.So today David was on the roof and i was passing him roof tiles,the rain stayed away and it was hot in the full sun.We thought we had calculated the number of tiles needed but as usual we were wrong by a whopping 68 tiles.Still cant figure it out.Yambol tomorrow for more!!Last night our oldest daughter Paula informed us that she is coming over on June 21 and we can't wait,wish Em's was too but she has to work next time maybe.
