The roof.

Yes its time for the roof to start to go on,no mean feet considering that every plank of wood has to be planed and stained before hand after the wood will come the tiles and then hurray a nice shade area.(of course the sink, floor tiles have to go in but hey a minor job for us)

Yambol Clinic.

Yesterday we met Laina in Yambol and she took us to the clinic to have my ears looked at,yes i know its sounds kind of a funny!but being deaf in one ear is no joke its been a real pain,not physically thank goodness.the clinic is a run down old concrete place and as we walked in it was buzzing with people sat waiting for doctors.Laina spoke to a receptionist whom she seemed to know and we were directed to the third floor where we met the doctor,after examining me he proceeded to set up a rather large syringe minus the needle (thank god)filled it with liquid and squirted it into my ears what a strange sensation.I wont go into more detail's except to say it cost 25Lev and i can hear again yippee!!!!money well spent.Note the building was in poor condition but the place was clean and the service good.Laina took us to see her apartment where we had lunch really nice day. 

Shade Area

The building at the back of the house is going up fine and we spent the weekend staining the wood,next thing to do will be the roof that should be fun!Tomorrow we are going into Yambol with Laina one of our neighbour to the clinic because I have gone deaf in my left ear,and have been putting drops in it for 2 weeks with no success will report on the event tomorrow(I hope)A little extra look at Damita's veggie garden isn't it just so neat!!!!!!beautiful

T Shirts.

Today after a few practice runs and a lot of frustration we have manage to print a pretty good picture onto a t shirt!it is of course quite good fun when you get the hang of it,getting the right side of the transfer paper is a feet in its self anyway this is our first attempt,best of all you can design all sorts for them any one want a t shirt?we are also experimenting with wood prints could do with more time in a day.

beautiful Day.

Its been a cracker of a day,must have hit 80,walked the boys them went shopping on the way back feed a little black dog abandoned by the crossroads,he's been there a little while poor thing.spent the rest of the day gardening and I'm whacked Gin and Tonic required.David continued with the summer kitchen come shade area and is ready for the roof to go.I have given the final touches to some more gourd's and they just get better!

Yep!!!it must be said ONLY WE COULD DO IT travel some 20 odd miles only to find when getting the gear out of the van that our Amplifier for the PA was still sat on the settee at home!!God what twits.So no practice and no video I'm afraid,going again in a few days(bet we don't forget anything)Any was here are a few pictures taken on route,the road is either the old Yambol/Elkhovo or built by the Russians when they where here,Its actually better than the new road we travel on from Yambol!

Garden pests

The days since our musical day-bu have flown past and I have missed a few days last wrote on the 14Th sorry,its the 17Th now whoops were did they go!!!!!The rain has stopped us from doing outside so concentrated on gourds and benches.Tomorrow we do a boot sale,maybe sell some of them.
As the title suggests we are fighting the pests again our old enemy the mole!good start for us though yesterday we flushed out no1 of the year,a nice sleek adult about 6"from nose to tail,put him in a bucket and away we went across the fields to release him/her.The Bulgarians would think us mad"bomb the buggers"but no cant do that so we are on another crusade to rid the garden,impossible me thinks!

It was quite terrifying, but exiting at the same time,good job we took our music book cos we forgot a lot of songs nerves i think had a G and T to calm me down.Anyway it went pretty well sound is going to be hard to sort out because it was a big echoey room and a far cry from our sitting room,but guess what it was really liked!!!!cant believe it there were only a handful of people which was good,so off we go again next week once we get the sound and our nerves under control a proper gig will be set up never thought I'd do this,and I'm sure no one else did!!Thanks for the good luck Scooby must have worked.Forgot to get a picture of us nerves I think!!!

Big Day!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well today we are doing a practice gig in the village bar where we went to the boot sale and I have to say I at least am terrified!but hey its only a practice!will report about it tomorrow.

These little shops are among our favorites in Yambol,I think because they were the first we shopped in on our very first visit to Bulgaria.a little row selling flowers,cards toiletry clothes and general bits and bobs,found as you enter Yambol from the old Burgas road end of town.Opposite is a small supermarket and the staff are really lovely.

Well what will they be up to this year you may ask?we have decided to put a shady area on the back of the house,its lovely round in the back garden but when the sun is full wow its hot so here you have the beginnings of our new project.Of course we are also promoting our,benches,gourds,and music!!!yes we think we are ready to play to an audience god help them and US!!!!(music may be ready but am I)

Ding Dong Bell!!!!

Do you know the nursery rhyme "Ding Dong Bell"in this case its David down the well!not the cat he has had to get the pump out again,for some reason it wont work until you pore water down the pipe still gives some mighty force though!!!!Thanks to all for my birthday greetings another year young.Yesterday we managed to plant the onions,I must admit we're finding it hard to get going this year maybe the last 2 years are starting to catch up with us.

Birthday.

Happy Birthday to me,yes its here again well tomorrow it is, oh god another year older!!!!never mind,I don't know what we are doing have to wait and see.Yesterday we went to Malomir a village near Yambol to a boot sale and had a really good morning.We met a few Brits,had a coffee in the local bar which is run by an English couple,unfortunately tried to take photo's and the flipping batteries went flat so better look next week!.Diado Dinka is up and about a little,unfortunately Baba fell and her knee is like a balloon so she not very mobile,in some pain and fretting about the veg garden not been planted.They are having a real poor year so far age not a good thing!!!!

First Peach Blossom.

A couple of things have happened since my last entry,our little peach tree's have blossomed they were planted last year so have done well,I went into the forest looking for plants there are Viola's,Crocus,Daffi's and many others so i dig a few and plant them in the garden.The most exciting thing that happened was Rubbish skips!!!!!!yes sad I know but to me who has spent ages picking up blinking plastic only for it to blow back off the tip its GREAT all we have to do is get the villages to use them!
