Baba Marta.
Well its got to the end of Feb,and the villages and towns are gearing up for the weekend celebration,s of Baba Marta.(the weather is a bit drab though)This is another old pagan ritual,on the first day of March most Bulgarians put a Martenitsa on,this is made out of red and white thread and worn on the wrist or on there jackets,to bring them health and ward off evil spirits. As tradition goes you are to take the Martenitsa off only after seeing a stork.then you put it under a stone or hang it on a tree branch.Yambol was really bussing with stalls selling red and white bands and pins, good fun.

Watch The Birdie!
Four more pictures of birds feeding just by the window, look at the little blue tit putting on a show for his food.
Very Odd Indeed.(March 2008)
After a month of nice weather it was a real shock to get a sudden winter storm, with hail and wind. The weather here in Bulgaria can be very unpredictable.
Time to cultivate again.
Yes it is time to get the cultivator and lawnmower out again good for fitness.David started to get the veg patch ready and I gave the grass its first trim.A lovely day allowed us to stay in the garden until 6pm with only a jacket on,a really good day!

Garden Project.(1 /5/ 2008)
Well its May already and we are getting to grips with the garden. When we arrived here the garden was just a large area of soil,so we are having to create from scratch ,good in one way bad in another because there is an awful lot of work to do as you can see.
Did You Know we..........................................
If you are thinking of coming to Bulgaria for a Holiday or to look at property you can now stay at our house. The first floor has 2 good sized rooms,a bathroom with bath and shower and its own private staircase. You can have bed and breakfast accommodation or self cater you choose.Airport pick up from Bourgas and hire car if needed can be arranged.Very child friendly village 20 min from Yambol,90 mins from the coast.
If you already live in Bulgaria and you need any gardening,DIY,doing we would be glad to help any thing considered.

Chimney Sweep.
We are at present reduced to a fan heater, because of the rain David is unable to attempt climbing on the roof for the chimney clean and we can't do it from inside the house! There is no way we dare light the fire until the clean is done so its 2 pairs of socks and an extra sweater at the moment. Not that I'm really complaining could have been a lot worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
